Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data Diaspora House collects through diasporahouse.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
Right now, the only personal data we collect directly through this site is:
- Email address — when you subscribe to the Learn newsletter.
We do not use cookies or analytics trackers on this site beyond what's required to load Google Fonts (which does not set tracking cookies for this use).
Why we collect it
We use your email address solely to send you the Diaspora House newsletter — educational content on real estate for the African diaspora — and to operate the signup itself (confirming your subscription, spam prevention). Our lawful basis for this is your consent, given when you submit the signup form.
Who we share it with
Email addresses are stored and the newsletter is sent using Beehiiv, our email service provider. The signup form itself runs through Netlify, our website host. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Beehiiv retains a record that you unsubscribed (to avoid re-contacting you by mistake) but stops sending you anything.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can at any time:
- Unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email
- Ask what data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete your data
- Withdraw consent
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@diasporahouse.com.
